Local Cruises
On Saturday (December 9th) we went out on a dolphin cruise to see bottle-nose and spinner dolphins. The boat left at 9:30am, and it took us 1.5 hours to get there (They dock at Waianae).
For some strange reason, we didn't see a single dolphin, but we had whales breaching around us. It was thrilling!
I called and they had a special going on for locals. I asked if I qualified and explained that we had lived on the island for the past 15 months, as volunteers at the Polynesian Cultural Center. They told me to bring something showing residency. I brought my car registration. This cruise goes out of Waianae and I would definitely do it again and we will--- they gave us free vouchers to come back because we didn't see dolphins.
We saw turtles and flying fish as well. The day was a perfect 75 degrees, sunshine and beauty.
